The primary goal of the seminar and workshop is to provide the pharmacists with the necessary skills and tools in understanding, screening, interpreting, managing, and documenting possible drug-related problems involving drug to drug or drug to food interactions. The course will focus on clinically significant drug interactions with immersive discussion about different case studies as to perfectly relate to practice. Complete with the documentation process, it will ensure that the necessary steps in providing quality pharmacist interventions are in place and relevant to current trend in the Philippines.

The seminar aims to 

  • Equip pharmacists with the skills on proper screening, identification, and management of different drug-drug and drug-food interactions 
  • Demonstrate different pharmacist interventions, how to access drug interaction resources and find references to support their interventions 
  • Discuss different documentation practices which can be adapted to the participants’ current practice 

At the end of the seminar, participants will be able to  

  • Describe interactions that will alter drug’s therapeutic effect and disposition, particularly drug to drug and drug to food interactions 
  • Assess which drug interactions are clinically significant 
  • Collect and analyze data on drug interactions and make an informed decision on how to go about with drug interaction issues 
  • Apply different documentation practices which best fit their current work
